Gandhi’s Message of Non-Violence Honoured in Amsterdam

Peace advocates from Indian and Dutch communities gathered in Amsterdam for a ceremony honouring Mahatma Gandhi, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around Gandhian principles of peace, compassion and respect for human dignity.

Held at Gandhi’s statue on Churchilllaan, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. Discussions also explored future cooperation in educating young people about fundamental human rights.

The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who news euromillions encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, linked the gathering to European principles of human dignity and freedom of conscience, stressing that knowledge of human rights can strengthen peaceful and democratic societies.
